Sheffield libraries

Sheffield City Council Libraries runs a regular programme of free activities across council-run libraries. Parents can use the library activities listing to check the nearest branch and the right age band.

Babytime is for babies and toddlers up to around 2 years old, Storytime is for pre-schoolers and Chatterbooks is for children aged 7 to 11. Central Library and Chapeltown Library both publish weekly Babytime and Storytime slots, so families can compare times as well as ages.

That mix makes it easy to move from a baby session to a preschool story slot and then on to a reading group for older children. If you are choosing a branch, the weekly times at each library are the quickest way to narrow it down.
