Perform Drama, Dance & Singing Classes

Yes — every child is entitled to a free trial session. You can see how Perform works, and how your child takes to the group, before committing to a block. Book through the Perform website or by phone.

Classes here are open to children aged 4–7 and 7–12. The 4–7s group deliberately mixes ages within that range: younger children are stretched by being alongside older ones, while older children develop confidence by influencing activities and taking on informal leadership. In the 7–12s class, character and previous experience matter more than an exact birth date.

Both age groups follow a three-section structure. The 4–7s work through movement and coordination exercises, songs and tongue-twisters, and character and storytelling role-play — every week with a different focus, and a running theme across the whole term. The 7–12s focus on acting and improvisation (including vocal projection and accents), movement and dance, and speech and singing. Small group sizes mean most children get solo or featured moments in the singing section.

Classes are purchased in blocks of 10 or 20 sessions; there is also an option to renew to the end of term, or to pay monthly by Direct Debit. Perform does not offer refunds, but cancellations given at least three days' notice generate account credit that can be used against future bookings. A bursary scheme is available, and Perform accepts childcare vouchers. New customers who join the mailing list receive £30 off their first block of 10 classes.

Missed sessions cannot be added to the end of a block. Perform does operate a make-up system though: provided your child is still enrolled, they can attend a class at another Perform venue to cover a missed session, subject to availability there.
