Baby Sensory Ayrshire N&E runs its Tuesday morning sessions at Cranberry Moss Community Centre in Kilwinning, with two back-to-back slots — 10:00–10:45 and 11:15–12:00 — operating term time only. Each session works through a structured mix of creative play, massage, tummy time, movement, visual stimulation, textures, scents, and music — all paced around a baby's natural play-rest-play cycle. The programme draws on 40 core lesson plans developed by Dr Lin Day, a Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine whose background spans nursing, special education, and post-graduate research in biomedical science. Original songs she composed run through every session alongside sensory signing activities that give babies and carers a way to communicate long before words arrive. Instruments are decibel-checked so they do not startle young ears, and the sensory display is set up at the distance a young baby actually focuses on.

For newborns from birth to three months, the Hello Baby add-on programme runs alongside the standard classes and covers three areas: observing how a newborn communicates through behavioural cues; a workshop on the main causes of colic and techniques that can reduce crying; and a massage session covering loving touch, reflexology, yoga, and containment holds. The programme's activities are also adapted so that babies with physical or sensory impairments can take part fully.

Wherever you are in those first thirteen months, every class has a detailed lesson plan behind it — not ad hoc activity — and there is a social dimension built in so parents can connect with others at the same stage.
