Baby Sensory

St. John the Divine Church Hall on Frankby Road, Greasby, hosts Baby Sensory's Younger Babies programme every Tuesday during term time, with four slots to choose from: 10:00–11:00, 11:30–12:30, 13:00–14:00, and 14:30–15:30. The classes are run by Steph Harrison, who covers the Wirral and Chester franchise area and has been recognised nationally with the WO4LO's award for Most Outstanding Class Leader for Under 5's in the UK.

Sessions are structured around a baby's natural play-rest-play cycle. Each one moves through creative play, gentle massage, tummy time, movement activities, and exposure to different textures and scents. Original music composed by Dr Lin Day — including 'Say Hello to the Sun' and 'Wave Goodbye' — runs alongside a mix of traditional rhymes, all chosen to develop early speech and language. Instruments are decibel-checked to make sure they are not too loud for young ears, and the visual sensory area is arranged at the distance at which babies can actually focus clearly.

Every session includes Bonding Time, an Exploratory Play Area, and Expert Tips from Steph. The session closes with womb sounds to soothe babies at the end. These are Younger Babies classes, open to ages from birth to 13 months at this venue. Feeding or cuddling during class is entirely welcome — there is no expectation that your baby stays engaged every moment.

If you have a newborn under three months, Baby Sensory also offers Hello Baby as an add-on programme covering observation, colic and comfort workshops, and massage techniques. Whether Hello Baby runs at this specific venue is worth confirming directly with Steph.
