Baby Sensory WOW Huddersfield holds classes five days a week at the WOW Sensory Centre in Lockwood — Albert Mills, Albert Street, HD1 3PZ. Sessions run term time only at £8.20 each, with multiple time slots on most days. Monday has three: 09:45, 11:15, and 14:00. Tuesday and Friday each have two morning and midday options. Wednesday and Thursday carry a single slot apiece. That spread gives families a reasonable chance of finding something that fits.

Leanne Edge leads the classes. She is the Regional Coordinator and an Advanced Baby Sensory practitioner, trained in the programme developed by Dr Lin Day — an educationalist and author with over 40 years of experience working with parents and children, and a Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine. Dr Day wrote every lesson plan herself, so what Leanne delivers in Huddersfield is the same structured, evidence-backed session running across the franchise network.

Each session opens with a signature song and then works through a detailed lesson plan covering visual play, textures, tummy time, massage, movement, scents, and music at carefully measured volumes. Sensory signing is woven in throughout — a way for babies and parents to begin communicating before spoken words are possible. At the close, the session ends with sounds that mimic the womb to help settle babies. Songs and rhymes run through the whole hour, building early speech and language foundations.

For families with a newborn, Huddersfield also offers Hello Baby for birth to three months. That programme has its own focus: reading behavioural cues, understanding the five main baby cries, managing colic, and practising early massage and reflexology — all calibrated to what very young babies actually need at that stage. Parents are welcome to feed or cuddle their baby at any point during any session.
