Baby Sensory

Baby Sensory classes at the Glasgow South WOW Centre are run by Jenny Boyce, who co-owns the Glasgow South & East Kilbride franchise with her husband Alan. Jenny brings over 26 years of professional experience working with families and children from birth through the teenage years — a background that informs the care taken in every session.

Each class follows a carefully structured lesson plan covering what your baby touches, sees, hears, smells, and feels. A signature song opens every session, and from there the hour weaves together creative play, tummy time, movement, textures, scents, and music. Sensory signing runs throughout, giving you a practical way to communicate with your baby long before words arrive. The room is arranged with your baby's eyesight in mind — the sensory area is set up to match the distance at which babies see objects clearly, and instrument sound levels are measured to ensure they stay within safe limits. At the close of every session, the sounds of the womb are played to help your baby settle.

Thursday sessions run from 11:30 to 12:30 and are term-time only; classes also run on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The Maxwell Building is more than just a class venue. There is a social café area where you can sit, have a drink, and talk to other parents before and after class — the sort of unhurried time that genuinely matters in those early months.

Classes are open from birth to 13 months. There is also a Hello Baby newborn programme for babies up to 12 weeks. You can start at any point in the year; there is no need to wait for a new term.
