Baby Sensory

Baby Sensory Wolverhampton North runs weekly sessions at its own dedicated Baby Sensory Centre on Silverton Way in Wednesfield. Classes run Monday to Thursday and cover babies from birth to 13 months. There is also a Hello Baby programme for the 0–3 month age group — useful if you have a very young baby and want something pitched specifically at that earliest newborn stage. Sessions run in rolling terms aligned with school holidays, so there is no need to wait for a new term to begin.

The franchise is led by Stephanie, who holds a degree in Drama and is trained in paediatric and adult first aid. Her background is in the charity sector, where she led projects for children with special educational needs. Leanne, who also works with the franchise, holds a degree in Psychology along with training in specialised lay therapy for social skills development. She began as a class leader in October 2015 and later bought the territory as a franchisee.

Every session follows a detailed lesson plan covering what your baby touches, sees, hears, smells and feels. Activities include creative play, tummy time, movement, baby massage, textures, scents and a mix of original and traditional songs and rhymes — all chosen to support early speech and language development. Sensory signing runs through the sessions to help parent and baby start communicating. Each session opens with a signature song and closes by mimicking the sounds of the womb to settle babies gently. Parents are welcome to feed or cuddle their baby at any point during the class. The sensory area is arranged to match the distance at which young babies see objects clearly, and instrument volumes are measured to make sure they stay at a safe level.
