Baby Sensory

Baby Sensory Chorley runs from The WOW Centre on Ackhurst Road, with sessions five days a week led by Lucy and Hayley. The franchise covers both Chorley and Wigan. Three to four classes run each day, which gives families real room to find a slot that works — and if life intervenes, pay-as-you-go booking means you are not locked into a full block.

Two programmes are on offer here: Hello Baby for newborns from birth to three months, and the main Baby Sensory programme for ages from birth to 13 months. Hello Baby is focused specifically on helping parents read their baby's cues, understand crying, and practise touch techniques including massage and reflexology. The main programme casts the net wider.

Every session follows a detailed lesson plan covering what babies touch, see, hear, smell and feel — none of it improvised. You can expect creative play, tummy time, massage, movement activities, textured objects, scents and music. Instruments are kept to measured decibel levels, and the sensory area is arranged to match the distances at which young babies focus clearly. A signature song opens every class. Sensory signing runs throughout, giving parents simple tools to communicate with their baby before spoken words arrive. Sessions close by playing sounds that mimic the womb. Parents are welcome to feed or cuddle their baby at any point during the session.

The summer 2026 term runs for seven weeks from the week commencing Monday 1st June. Each week carries its own theme: the term opens with a Summer Carnival of ribbons and dancing, moves through Jungle Jitters animal exploration and an Aloha Hawaiian tropical adventure, then into French Week themed sensory activities and Baby Pirates water play, before a learning and development cognitive session and an end-of-term party close things out. Varying the theme each week means the experience shifts noticeably from one session to the next.
