Perform Drama, Dance & Singing Classes

Yes. Every child is entitled to a free trial class. You can book through the Perform website, through Emily (the Producer at this venue), or by phone.

Perform runs two groups: 4–7s and 7–12s. At this venue, the 4–7s class is on Wednesdays at 4pm and the 7–12s class follows at 5:05pm. In the 4–7s group, mixed ages are part of the design — younger children are challenged by their peers while older children build confidence by helping to lead activities. For the 7–12s, previous performing-arts experience matters less than personality and social readiness.

Classes are booked in blocks of ten consecutive sessions. If you need to cancel, three days' notice moves the credit to your account for use on other Perform products; missed sessions cannot be added on to the end of a block. A make-up system does allow your child to attend another Perform venue if one is available, provided they are still enrolled. If you cancel entirely and later want to restart, a minimum of ten consecutive classes must be purchased.

Each hour covers drama, dance and singing. For 4–7s that means movement games and yoga-style exercises, songs and tongue-twisters, then storytelling and role-play. For 7–12s it is acting and improvisation exercises, movement and dance, and speech and singing work — including vocal projection, physicality, and for those who want it, solo or featured roles in the singing section. The curriculum changes each term; this summer the 4–7s theme is Mermaids & Pirates and the 7–12s theme is The Dream.

Blocks can be bought in sets of ten or twenty sessions, or paid monthly by Direct Debit. A bursary scheme is available — contact the Perform office for details. Childcare vouchers are accepted. New customers who join the mailing list receive £30 off their first block of ten classes.
