Perform Drama, Dance & Singing Classes

Yes. Every child is entitled to a free trial session. You can see the class in action and let your child get a feel for it before booking a block. Book via the Perform website, speak to Jessalyn directly, or call the Perform office.

Classes split into 4–7s and 7–12s. In the younger group the mixed age range is intentional: younger children are stretched and stimulated by those around them, while older ones gain leadership skills through influencing activities. In the 7–12s, previous experience matters less than attitude and character.

Each 90-minute class moves through three sections. For 4–7s: physical warm-up and coordination games, a singing and speech section with specially composed songs, tongue-twisters and raps, then imaginative character and storytelling work. For 7–12s: acting and improvisation exercises, group movement and dance, and speech and singing in small groups where most children get a solo or featured moment. The focus changes every week.

Places are booked in blocks of ten consecutive classes, with options for 20-session blocks, end-of-term renewal, or monthly Direct Debit. Missed sessions cannot be added to the end of a block, but a make-up system lets your child attend another Perform venue if space is available. Cancellations given at least three days' notice result in credit applied to your account rather than a refund. New customers who join the mailing list receive £30 off their first block of ten.

At the end of each term, family and friends are invited to a Presentation to see what the children have been working on. There are also half-term Open Workshops. Holiday courses include mini-performances, and this summer Perform is staging a ticketed West End show of Mermaids & Pirates.
